In the summer season of 1983, 17-year-old American-Italian Elio Perlman (Timothée Chalamet) lives in a 17th century classic villa next to his family. He spends his time reading music, reading and dating Marzia (Esther Garrel).
Elio has a close relationship with his father (Michael Stuhlbarg), an expert elite professor, and his translator mother Annella (Amira Casar). Elio’s sophisticated and intellectual gifts make him more adult, but he is innocent in love affairs and not aware of anything else. There are many things that remain innocent and awkward about him, especially about the issues of the heart.
Some day, an American scientist Oliver (Armie Hammer) working on his doctorate arrives villa for annual summer intern of helping Elio’s father. With the splendor of a beautiful summer, Elio and Oliver step into a friendship that will change their lives forever …
